I was always...

a New York girl stuck in a California upbringing with a Utah mountain-heritage chaser. A constantly-in-motion fast talker raised in the Los Angeles film and television world who found my place and my "people" when I ended up studying theater at Brown University. I'd never heard of it. Had no idea what it was. But it changed the way I saw things and opened up new possibilities. A junior year spent immersing myself in U.K. style conservatory training in London solidified my love for classical performance. After graduation, I began my career, but it was set aside upon the birth of my first child, Emma. Five years later, as she prepared to head off to kindergarten, I came home with new headshots in hand ready to go back to work - only to discover that her sister "Chloe" was on the way. Chloe decided to treat us to the joys of open-heart surgery on an 8 day old baby and then a little balloon angioplasty at 6 months and a second surgery at 7 months. Suffice to say, my acting career was put on indefinite hold. And then...they grew up. With Emma now preparing to head off to Northwestern, she convinced me to abandon "college drop-off" and audition for a new work being done at a playwrights' festival in the hidden gem of Sheridan, Wyoming. I was cast in the lead role of a beautiful new play "Hollywood, NE" and it reconnected me to my earlier self. And I knew - this is who I am. It's what I do.
